Sunny September

September is in full swing (well, nearly coming to an end!) We celebrated the first official day of Autumn earlier in the week and we have woken to early morning mists across the fields.

The days have warmed up beautifully though, treating us to the most welcome warm sunshine.

I've been back out on my daily walks around the park. I had to give up the running due to incredibly painful shin splints and the 32 length swimming sessions stopped when the lido closed, so it's back to where I started - walking around the beautiful Collett Park.

The weather has made my walks easy - maybe I'll speed up when it gets colder. I spotted this cheeky fellow with a mouthful, out on my walk today. I wish I'd had a proper camera with me rather than my phone, as I couldn't get close enough to get a better shot.

There are  berries galore too, which will keep the birds well fed this coming Winter.

I'm back on the healthy, home cooked eating - delicious beef casserole on this weeks menu.

The weather is working it's magic on my sweet peas which are still so full of flower, although completely covered in greenfly.

The pumpkins are now nearly all the perfect shade of orange!

Just a quick reminder - our 'EARLY BIRD' offer ends at midnight on Saturday - this week our fabulous Christmas wrap is half price. You can shop for it  *HERE* and we'll announce the next offer on Sunday.

Have a lovely weekend in the sunshine, fingers crossed.

More of the same!

Well another week has gone by and I certainly can't complain about the beautiful warm weather we have been having - still very much 'flip-flop' weather but with an autumnal twist.

The leaves are beginning to turn and fall but are wonderfully crisp and crunchy due to the amazingly warm, dry spell we are having.

I've reverted back to childhood and can't seem to resist picking up conkers on my daily walk - we have bowls of them dotted around on window ledges. They're supposed to keep spiders at bay - no idea if this is really true but they look pretty anyway.

The garden continues to be gorgeous but there are definite signs that things are changing.

Our pumpkins are ripening up a treat......

....Jeff's pride and joy!

Just hope the slugs keep away from it until Halloween!

What a sunny week

This week has been all about enjoying this beautiful sunny weather. I've been having my lunch out in the garden, making the most of the warmth and blue skies, a real bonus at this time of year.

The garden is loving this glorious weather too - I'm still picking sweet peas and

picking beans too.

The pumpkins are ripening up just lovely and

the final sunflower is a burst of colour down at the bottom of the garden.

Maybe because of the sunflowers and the sunshine, I was inspired to purchase this lovely cardie - a bargain £20 from TU at Sainsburys - a burst of colour for Autumn ahead.

I was also drawn to these beautiful Dahlia's, a variety called 'Honka' so I'm told.

Well I hope you are having a lovely weekend and enjoy some sunshine wherever you are.

Hello September

So it's September, back to work and school for everyone and time for me to do some serious making up prep over at the unit.

This could put a spanner in the works though - it would be wrong not to make the most of any good weather we may get - you never know what weather we have in store for us. That's one of the perks of being self employed, choosing when to work and when to make the most of the sunshine!

Sophie and Sam have gone back to school - Sophie going into Year 10 and starting her GCSE year's and Sam in Year 8. I can't get over how grown up they suddenly seem to be and how tall Sam is getting.

So into September we go - sunflowers to brighten the way.

Have a lovely weekend.
