Week 4 - update

This week has seen the biggest visual change to the build - we have walls!

And a kitchen window (sort of!!)
I'm beginning to visualise the space and how it will all come together.

I popped into my favourite shop on the way back from Bath the other day and bought these lovely old painted drawers for the new bedroom or maybe the kitchen or maybe the studio - not sure yet! I will have to see how everything evolves once I see the space - exciting times ahead x

dots and spots is super busy at the moment and whilst trying to do some Christmas prep and house stuff, the days are just whizzing by far too quickly although I must confess, I'm wishing the build on so I can get started with all the decorating and nice bits.

Have a great weekend x

Week 3 of the build

Yesterday I went to Bath - belated Birthday Celebrations for Sophie with her friends. I dropped them off and had a lovely day by myself - started a little Christmas shopping, met my sister for lunch, then back home once it all got stupidly busy.

Her friends all came back for a sleepover and a traditional 'party tea'.
I'm about to taxi them all home once they get themselves organised!

The last of the naughty treats now until Christmas - I have a month to get back into the Slimming World zone and lose a few pounds before the festivities really begin.

The build is moving on fabulously and 3 weeks in, we're a quarter of the way through the budget and the foundations are done.

The builders have worked hard and we are now ready for the brickies to arrive this week - apparently the shell will be up by Christmas, which will be fabulous.

Fingers crossed the weather stays on our side x

Birthday time!!

Happy Birthday dear Mum........

So it was my Birthday yesterday - a young 45!!

I decided to have a guilt free 'off plan' day and started it off with delicious white toast with butter and rhubarb and ginger jam - YUM!

Sophie, Sam and I then headed off to Bristol for lunch (Jeff was working) and the main event, Mary Poppins at the Hippodrome. I last saw it 11 years ago when Sophie was 5 and it was her first outing to Musical theatre - we have certainly seen a lot more since.

It was truly supercalifragilisticexpialidocious x

I opened my presents when I got home and was speechless!
The boy did good!!

Tickets to see Scouting for Girls at Cardiff in just 4 weeks time and then....

Sweet Sixteen

Sixteen years ago this tiny little bundle entered my world and I wouldn't have changed a thing!
Being a Mum is such a wonderful gift and being Mum to Sophie and then Sam, has been the best gift I've ever been given.

I loved putting this photo collage together - although going through boxes of photo's over in storage wasn't too much fun! But wow, how great to look back at a photo taken on each of her '16' birthdays. I was reminded of all the parties and themes and family gatherings and outings to celebrate the special day each year.

Poor girl is currently in the middle of her mock exams so won't be celebrating with friends for another couple of weeks. She had her room done as part of her birthday present during the Summer and ended up with my old i-phone when I recently upgraded, so there weren't many gifts to open today.

I did however want to get her something to keep, to remember her sixteenth and thought these framed quotation prints were a perfect keepsake.

And of course there was cake!
Wouldn't be a birthday without cake x

Need to 'gear' myself up ready for next year's celebrations,
as she'll be able to learn how to drive!!!!!

Building work has started!!!!

So as November begins, so the building work starts!

The builders only arrived at midday and by the time I arrived back from the school run, the little shed was already down, the roof tiles were off and eek! it really felt like things were happening.

Got back this morning and the roof was down - so good to see such progress!
Fingers crossed this bodes well for the rest of the build x

EDIT

Got back tonight and it's gone!!
