Yesterday my very clever husband got himself a new job - a 'permanent' job teaching Maths at Millfield - the largest Independent School in the UK. To say we are relieved is an understatement.
Since he was made redundant, there has been that underlying fear about how we would manage financially. He as you know, secured a Year's Maternity Cover post at Kingswood school in Bath, which was great and he really is enjoying working there but and it is a big but, it wasn't permanent and it was an hours journey every day.
Millfield is just 15/20 minutes up the road. He's teaching GCSE and A Level Maths, which is what he likes best. He will have to do a late duty once a week and will have to work Saturdays again but it is a permanent post and we couldn't be happier.
I am a believer in things happening for a reason. At the time I was dumbfounded by Jeff's unfair redundancy. I simply couldn't make sense of it all. He was treated appallingly but as a result of it, he got the job at Kingswood which enabled him to return to higher level Maths, which made it possible for him to apply for Millfield. So all has come good in the end. *phew!

Really pleased for you :) This happened to us too - when my husband was made redundant it seemed like the end of the world and it was a horrible time but he's ended up with a better job - closer to home and much more interesting - so it all worked out for the best.
Well done, I think his old school may have lost a brilliant teacher....
and Millfield has gained one....
I believe things happen for a reason too! I am so happy for you all, and I bet your husband is happy too.
