Christmas incoming.....

It's very nearly Christmas!!!!!!

The house is looking festive, the cupboards are full, the Christmas tunes are playing out 24/7 and last night (Saturday) Sam came home! So Christmas 'proper' can now begin!

I have done all my festive shopping, other than the last food shop now.
The paper puddings were one of the last purchases......

.....along with a bunch of red tulips xx

Sophie came home on Tuesday afternoon and so on Wednesday, whilst it was dry, we got a burst of fresh air over at Ham Wall.

No sign of the Kingfisher, too windy I think, but we made it home before it rained.

And spent the afternoon sewing. I had this idea to unpick a single duvet cover and make it into two tablecloths. All that needed doing was a simple hem around each one. Although Sam is now disappointed that we won't be having the one we usually have (22 years running!!!)

And then in the evening, we watched our first Christmas film, the new Richard Curtis film,
THAT CHRISTMAS. It was a good, easy watch

Thursday morning, Sophie and I headed over to the Newt.

It wasn't as festive as I was hoping and there was a very cold wind, so we had a brisk walk around the grounds and then came home.

We were Out! Out! in the evening, the three of us!

Bristol bound!

The fantastic 'Christmas Spectacular' at St George's in Bristol.
This is our 3rd year seeing the Bristol Ensemble and the City of Bristol Choir perform together, and it's brilliant. Really kick-starts all the festive feels. A mix of orchestral pieces, carols, popular Christmas songs, audience participation. A fantastic night out.

Friday morning we headed over to Shepton as Sophie had a hair appointment, and I did a last whizz around the big Tesco's, before heading back to Street and Sainsbury's for my penultimate food shop. I've just the fresh bits to get, then it's a case of what we haven't got, we do without!!

The same goes for the house....what isn't done now, won't get done!!

We've three more days, until Christmas day.

Just back from seeing Jeff's side of the family this afternoon

I love hearing what all my nieces and nephews are up to and also for all the cousins to get together. The eldest is now 28 and youngest 16!! All happily chatting and reminiscing about our family holidays to the the Dorset coast in the caravan park

A big shout out to Jeff's sister Jane for hosting us all.

Tomorrow we head down to Devon, to meet up with my side of the family xx
